HARD ROCK CANDY


3 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. Karo syrup
1 c. water
Oil flavoring (cinnamon, oil, peppermint oil, etc.)
Food coloring
Mix ingredients and boil for 10 minutes. Boil until hard crack stage (300-310°F on a candy thermometer). Add coloring and oil, 30 drops for good flavor. Sprinkle powdered sugar on cookie sheet and pour mixture on top. After hardening and cooling, place cookie sheet in paper bag and drop the bag to break the candy into pieces. Store in airtight container.Cooks Note: Use a candy thermometer for best results
